Our Approach

At Orchardgrove we endeavour to provide the highest quality early learning and childcare. In order to achieve this we have consulted children, parents and early years practitioners to help create our own unique set of values and aims and which help shape our vision.

Our Mission Statement

To promote each child's happiness, their ability to thrive and their parents peace of mind.

Vision and Values

We aspire to deliver a holistic and seamless learning journey from birth to starting school as defined in Building the Ambition, national guidance tool which focuses on

improving early learning and childcare for Scotland’s children.

With this in mind our vision is to be an extension of a child’s family, providing high quality Early Learning and Child Care as we implement Curriculum for Excellence, Pre-Birth to Three and

Getting it Right for Every Child in order to support and prepare young children for the future.

Our Aims

  1.  To ensure that all children, parents and staff are treated equally and with dignity and respect whatever their gender, sexual orientation, race, social class, religion, culture, ability or disability.
  2. To provide an environment which is safe, resourced and stimulating for children to achieve and progress in their learning.
  3. To provide broad and balanced curriculums which meet the needs of all children and which enable them to reach their full potential.
  4. To assist children in becoming successful learners, effective contributors, responsible citizens and confident individuals. To be creative, healthy and to develop a positive attitude to life.
  5. To involve parents as much as possible as we believe that continuity of care is essential between home and nursery, especially as parents are the main      influence on their children's learning and later achievements.
  6. To assist staff to work effectively as a team and to develop their skills in order that they may best meet the needs of the children and their families.
  7. To have positive and productive relationships with the Local Authority,      Education Scotland, the Care Inspectorate, external support agencies and the wider community.

On-going Improvements

We are committed to continuous improvement through the development of our staff and ongoing consultation with parents, partner agencies and the wider community.
